FAYETTEVILLE — A woman using the Lake Fayetteville Trail near the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks reported she was attacked early Tuesday morning.
According to a 911 dispatch call, the woman reported the incident happened about 8:30 a.m. near the 3.5-mile marker on the Lake Fayetteville Trail.
Sgt. Craig Stout said no major injuries were reported and no arrest was made Tuesday.
The woman told police that a heavyset white man with blonde hair grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth. The woman said he tried to drag her to the ground, when she hit him on the head with a water bottle. The man ran away and disappeared into a wooded area, according to the report.
The woman said the man had on a gray or tan shirt and shorts.
