Springdale Har-Ber cruises in opener

FAYETTEVILLE Springdale Har-Ber might be inexperienced, but it’s not something the Wildcats show any sign of.
Har-Ber throttled Lebanon (Mo.) Thursday night at Razorback Stadium to the tune of 35-3, which forced the game to impose the sportsmanship rule with a running clock early in the third quarter.
Despite the point margin, Har-ber wasn’t able to score as quickly as it would have liked to.
Lebanon and Har-Ber were scoreless entering the second quarter until senior quarterback Austin Mayfield found wide receiver Michael Fine open in the corner of the endzone.
That 12-yard touchdown pass with 11 minutes and 28 seconds remaining in the second would ignite a flame for the Wildcats offense, as they would go on to score 28 points in the quarter.
“We have receivers you could pretty much kick the ball to and they’d make you look good,” Mayfield said. “They’re always where you’re supposed to be, which makes it easy for us and makes it fun.”
Fine would go on to catch three touchdowns on the night.
