SPRINGDALE Sandy Jones likes what her Springdale Har-Ber team brings to the table.
The Wildcats volleyball coach can’t ask for much more as she has a starting lineup that consists of all seniors, including Summer Morgan, who’s committed to Arkansas.

And possessing a senior-laden team couldn’t have come at a better time as Har-Ber expects to build on last year’s campaign where it went 21-12 while losing to eventual state champion Bentonville in the Class 7A semifinals.
“I think we have the experience now that we were lacking in certain areas last year,” Jones said. “I’ve seen tremendous growth in the players. There’s something to be said about an all-senior team with the leadership.”
Jones added the senior camaraderie will help her players come together in clutch situations to pull out close victories.
Har-Ber does have one varsity player who’s not a senior in sophomore Emily Coats. At 5-foot-9, she earned a varsity spot during team camps over the summer in Missouri and should prove especially valuable next season when experience will be at a minimum.
The Wildcats also got an addition to its coaching staff over the offseason in Kele Luigs, formerly Kele Brewer, who played outside hitter for the Razorbacks from 2003-06.
“When I had heard Kele played at Arkansas, that was a huge plus right off the bat,” Jones said. “With somebody with the experience, not so much on the coaching side, but the playing side, I thought she could really bring another level to our team.”
Brewer finished her career with 1,192 kills and is excited about the new career opportunity.
