Doctors travel circuit for kids

Drive from LR hard after chemo

Special to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette 12-year-old cancer patient Dillon Lewis of Cecil greets his hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Amir R. Mian, while celebrating his last day of chemotherapy in August at Arkansas Children's Hospital. The opening of a new, traveling cancer clinic at the Centers for Children in Lowell on Tuesday will mean less time on the road for Dillon as he continues his followup doctor visits.

At a little more than four years old, the Centers for Children is adding four new pediatric medical subspecialties that will reduce or eliminate the need for Northwest Arkansas children to travel to Little Rock for care.
