A Kum & Go store in Lowell undergoes a major renovation, getting 2,000 additional square feet of space. It’s part of the company’s efforts to expand fresh food and beverage products in its Northwest Arkansas stores.
Consumers are spending more for fresh food at convenience stores and the businesses are responding to the demand.

Food service, 21.9 percent
Cigarettes, 18.4 percent
Packaged beverages, 17.7 percent
Beer, 5.4 percent
Candy, 4.8 percent
