Woman Accused Of Lottery Fraud

An Oklahoma woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with attempting to defraud the Arkansas Lottery, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mary Magdalene Ross, 23, of 315 S. Maple in Westville was arrested in connection with commercial burglary, felony theft and lottery fraud.

According to the affidavit, Ross and three others went to the Siloam Springs Food Mart, 102 E. U.S. 412, after one of the others had been fired from the business. That person still had a door key. The others entered the business, Ross told investigators, and stole some items, including lottery tickets.

The affidavit states Ross told authorities she did not enter the business, but later attempted to cash in winning lottery tickets, knowing they were stolen.

Ross was released from the Benton County Jail on Thursday on a $3,000 bond.
