PREP VOLLEYBALL: Bentonville Goes Back-To-Back

CONWAY Bentonville saved its best for last on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers bounced back from an opening-set loss to knock off Fayetteville 17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 to claim the Class 7A State Volleyball championship in Conway High’s Buzz Bolding Arena.
Senior outside hitter Shayne Wiedemann finished with a match-high 26 kills to lead Bentonville (32-7) to its second consecutive state title and fourth in the last five years.
The Lady Tigers scored nine straight points in the third set to take a 19-16 lead and never trailed again.
Fayetteville (34-2) had beaten Bentonville both times during the regular season, but lost for the third time in the finals to the Lady Tigers.
