US Stores Offer Layaway, Fuel Rollback

Walmart continues reacting to economic challenges facing consumers.

“We are evaluating extending the gas rollback until next year. Sometimes rollbacks become permanent, sometimes they are just 90 days.” BILL SIMON President and chief executive office of Walmart U.S.

Bill Simon, president and chief executive officer of Walmart U.S., told investors Wednesday the company plans to build or convert 210 to 235 stores next year compared to about 150 this year.

The new store breakdown:

Supercenter - 130-135

Walmart Market - 80

Walmart Express - 20
