SPRINGDALE — Andrea Morales, a teacher at J.O. Kelly Middle School, won a Milken Educator Award on Thursday morning.
She will receive $25,000 for the national award, which is given to about 40 teachers annually.
Morales did not know she received the award until it was announced by Gov. Mike Beebe at a school assembly.
“I’m just in shock right now,” Morales said. “I had no idea. I got into this business not because of the money, but to help the kids.”
