Breast Cancer Given ‘The Boot’

MORE THAN 600 ATTEND ANNUAL PINK RIBBON LUNCHEON

Drucilla Billington was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993. Ten years later, she moved to Northwest Arkansas, where she joined the Fayetteville Newcomers Club.

PINK RIBBON AWARDS

Pat Hutter of Rodeo of the Ozarks and coordinator of the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” event was honored with a Gaye Cypert Power of a Promise award. The rodeo event has raised nearly $10,000 in the past six years.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown also received a Gaye Cypert Power of a Promise award.

Congregation members prepare the pasta and sauce for the annual pasta party the night before the Race for the Cure. Church member Frances Franco accepted the award.

Larry Shackelford, who has served on the Ozark Affiliate board since 2005, was honored with a Power of One Award from the national Komen for the Cure.

Lorie Robertson, chairwoman of the Paint the Park Pink event in Fort Smith, was honored with a national Power of One Award last week.
