OFFICIALS: Activities Important Part Of High School
Participation in school, community is indicator of college performance

Participation in extracurricular activities in high school can provide lifelong lessons as well as bring honor to students and the school, School District officials said.

Fayetteville Accolades
Some recognition for Fayetteville High School students both for grades and activities this year:
• Sara Burrell: Youth in Philanthropy Award from Association of Professional Fundraisers.
• Macy Manning, Katherine Gea: Perfect scores on the ACT college admission test.
• 26 television production students: Working as a team, placed second in a regional broadcasting conference in Springfield, Mo.
• Rachel England: First place in broadcast news at the regional conference in Springfield, Mo.
• Cheer Team: Grand champions in the first Bulldog Cheer Competition over 17 other teams.
• 22 students: Awarded Chancellor’s Scholarships to the University of Arkansas for being named National Merit finalists and a National Achievement semifinalist.
• 51 students: Selected for All-Region Choirs.
• 32 students: Selected for All-State Choir.
• Lady Bulldog golf team: Won the 2011 7A State Championship.
