Group wants to keep hold on city center

Fort Smith, commission work on permanent fix

The Fort Smith Advertising and Promotion Commission on Tuesday voted its intention to continue operating the Fort Smith Convention Center despite rejection of a 1 percent prepared-food tax that would have been dedicated to funding convention center operations.
