Fort Smith to dedicate statue of Bass Reeves

$300,000 project to honor frontier deputy

The larger-than-life statue of legendary frontier lawman Bass Reeves will be dedicated in Fort Smith on May 26, a member of the statue project committee told city directors Tuesday.
