Walmart achieved its goal of earning positive same-store sales at U.S. stores, but it hit the retailer’s bottom line.

Looking Ahead

Bill Simon, president and chief executive officer for Walmart U.S., forecast comp sales for fiscal 2012 fourth quarter to range from flat to positive 2 percent.

Charles Holley, chief financial officer, said Walmart’s earnings per share guidance for the fourth quarter should be between $1.42 and $1.48 and for the full year to be between $4.45 and $4.51.
