A year ago, Mahfuza Akhtar celebrated Eid al-Adha in Mecca, joining 5 million other pilgrims at their faith’s holiest site.

Shabbat Dinner Honors Survival

Ernest Fruehauf is recognized at a Shabbat dinner Nov. 4 at Temple Shalom in Fayetteville. Fruehauf’s family left Germany in 1941 to escape the systematic persecution of Jews.
