When Mark Howell graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1981, he had no idea the adventure his life would become.

Army warrant officer Mark Howell has served in a variety of positions:
• He established a personal security operation in Sarajevo, Bosnia.
w He was an assistant special agent in charge at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
• He was temporary personal security officer to Mrs. William Cohen, when her husband was the secretary of defense.
• He served nearly four years at personal security officer for Gen. David Petraeus.
• He served as the personal security officer for Marine Gen. John Allen, who replaced Petraeus in Afghanistan.
• He has been decorated more than 25 medals including three Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation Medals and a Joint Services Achievement Medal.
• He has a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College in New York and a master’s from Michigan State University.
