Tom and Karen Mowry ride away from the busy Catalpa general store and cafe after lunch. The pavement ends at tiny Catalpa, a town steeped in Ozark character.

On one visit we saw ducks, chickens and squawking guineas in wire cages stacked high in a rusty pickup.
