PEA RIDGE — Cynthia Sheree Hayes, 52, of Pea Ridge, died Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born Jan. 10, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to Wendell Ray Griffin and Letha Laynette Davis Griffin.
She was a kindergarten teacher for 28 years and was “Teacher of the Year” in 2006. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Pea Ridge, and is preceded in death by her father, Wendell Ray Griffin.
Survivors are her husband, Ken Hayes of the home; one daughter, Danee Hayes of Edmond, Okla.; two sons, Shawn Hayes and Kevin Lyle Hayes, both of Pea Ridge; her mother and stepfather, Laynette and Milton Johnson of Princeton, Texas; one brother, Douglas Griffin and Jeanne of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Teresa Williams and Chris of Piedmont, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Service is set for Thursday, May 19, 10 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers, with the Rev. Aaron Matthews and the Rev. Leon Hendrix officiating. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is set for today, May 18, 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
