Staci Elizabeth Ward

— Staci Elizabeth Ward, 45, of Bentonville, and formerly of Lake of the Woods, Orange, Va., Oklahoma City and Lawton, Okla., passed away April 26, 2011, in Rogers, Ark. She was born April 19, 1966, in Greenwood, Miss., the daughter of George E. and Susan Bates Ward.

She graduated from Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated from Cameron University, Lawton, Okla., with a degree in information technology.

She joined Walmart Headquarters, where she was a senior manager in Internal Audit Services at the time of her death. She was a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, International Associations of Project and Programs Managers and World Wildlife Fund.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Margaret Bates of Altus, Okla., and Maylon and Elizabeth Ward of Vardaman, Miss.

She is survived by her parents, George E. and Susan Bates Ward of Lawton; two brothers, Britt Ward and wife, Erin, of Warren, R.I., and Barry Ward and wife, Michelle, of Jenks, Okla.; nephews, Samuel and Grayson Ward and Brian Mincher; nieces, Allyson and Brooke Mincher; aunts, Sandra Maroul, Fort Worth, Texas, Sherry Adams, Yakima, Wash., Margaret Bates and Debbie Bates, Altus, Okla., Joanne James, Derma, Miss., Virginia Vanlandingham, Vardaman, Miss., Ann Ward, Memphis, Tenn.; and uncles, John Bates and Joe Bates, Altus, Okla., Carl Ward, Ray James, Fred Vanlandingham, and Jerry Adams; and numerous beloved cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers.
