2011 Susan G. Komen Ozark Race for the Cure

More than 16,000 people registered for the 2011 Komen Ozark Race for the Cure, the largest ever for the event, said Alison Levin, executive director of the race.

Saturday’s races raised more than $1 million. Seventy-five percent of the money raised will be used for programs to educate, screen and treat breast cancer in the nonprofit organization’s eight-county area. The remaining 25 percent of the money raised will be used to pay for research, Levin said.
