LEMKE PROGRAM BUILDS COMMUNITY

The remarkable thing about the high school students sitting at stations in the computer lab was not their typing speed — some were furiously pounding the keys while others were painstakingly hunting and pecking for each letter. It wasn’t their appearance, which saw some dressed up (and made-up ) to the nines while others wore jeans and sweatshirts. It wasn’t even what they were writing about, though some tackled pretty heavy topics. The remarkable thing about the 25 teenagers was that they were there at all.
