By the 7-1 vote, it might be hard to tell the Fayetteville City Council represents a population fairly evenly split on how far the mayor and aldermen should go when imposing the will of government on the people they’re elected to serve.

Sorry Greg, maybe you need to move to Chickenopolis next door where they just recently found it necessary to impose some housing regulations and building codes, you know,those socialistic standards that civilized folks have been doing for 100 years to avoid slums and urban decay.

It's my opinion that the vast majority of Fayetteville residents treasure their local environment. Fortunately people of Harton's mindset do not want to regulate our water supply so that folks would be allowed to dump raw sewage into the White River. After all Greg, if their property borders the River why shouldn't they do with it what they choose?

Stream-side protection is no different. Growth brings problems and intelligent people deal with it intelligently. Many states have much more far-ranging rules to protect their local environments.
