— Washington County residents can now access the detainee information, the most wanted list and a feed from the sheriff's Facebook and Twitter feeds.

In a news release Wednesday Sheriff Tim Helder said the application would support push notifications, which send news and alerts to users even if the app isn't running.

"This application will be a great asset for the Sheriff's Office because it will give us the ability to notify the community of important news ranging from criminal events, missing person notifications and emergency weather warnings," Helder said.

The application is compatible with the iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone running iOS 4.0 or later. Users can download it from the iTunes store for free.
