Crews clear Joplin’s tornado debris

Paul Gaudreau of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers makes “load calls” Wednesday, deciding how much vegetative material is in each truck pulling into a facility carrying debris from the May 22 tornado that hit Joplin, Mo.

From a tower high above the trucks, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employee Paul Gaudreau does the “load calls” that decide how much vegetative debris is packed onto arriving trailers.
