Beebe names Paragould man to university board

— A Paragould man has been appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to serve on the Arkansas State University Board of Trustees.

A news release from Beebe's office on Thursday said Charles Luter had been named to the board for a five-year term. He replaces Florine Milligan.

The release said the 71-year-old Luter is chairman of First Delta Bank of Marked Tree and Tyronza, and serves on the board of Liberty Bank of Arkansas. He obtained a business degree from ASU in 1967. He has been a member of what is now the ASU Red Wolf Club for more than 40 years, currently serving as its president. He has also served as chairman of the ASU Foundation.

Luter's term on the board will expire Jan. 14, 2016.
