Builders Feel Singled Out Under Illegal Immigration Bill

Construction companies are being singled out unfairly under legislation that would require them to ensure their subcontractors aren’t hiring illegal immigrants, local builders and state lawmakers said Saturday.

Simple solution = All contractors and subcontractors must have licenses. Prior to obtaining a building permit the city is to verify that everyone is licensed. The General Contractor is to obtain this information from the subcontractors that all are legal. Before the licenses are renewed annually, everyone has to prove all employees are here legally.
