PUBLIC VIEWPOINT We Pay Enough For Illegals

There it was again, another half-page editorial endorsing illegal immigration and trashing Mark Pryor for opposing the “DREAM” act (in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Dec. 21), and the next day a Porfirio Gutierrez letter (in the Democrat-Gazette) endorsing teaching Spanish to Hispanics at our expense. A previous column (by Brenda Blagg, Dec. 12) lamented the poor illegal alien child who’s had free K-12 education, but might have to pay out-of-state tuition for college. At an annual pupil expense of $8,541, that “poor child” has already cost local taxpayers $111,033, and this paper wants us to pay for college, too?

It’s time to repeal “don’t ask don’t tell” - not in the military, but in the Obama administration’s immigration policy. Arizona tried to ask, but Obama sued to stop them and sued again when they thought you should be a U.S.

citizen to vote. Of course, from his perspective, if you don’t need a valid birth certificate to be prez, why would you need one to vote? And if you have illegal alien relatives defying deportation orders, just get them amnesty, as I suspect he will try for all his illegal-alien voters.

Each year the school board wants more of my Social Security check to build more schools and raise underperforming programs (and why are theyunderperforming?). I say first they ASK and TELL and let Immigration and Customs Enforcement clear out freeloading illegal aliens, and then see if we need more schools. Round them up, bus them home, and leave American jobs and schools for Americans; let Mexico teach them Spanish. Can’t be done, you say?

It’s done every day, except we bus them to school; the border is just a longer trip.

And for property owners footing the bill? Give us a choice.

Check here for schools or check here for roads; let us decide which we need most.
