LSU player transfers to Arkansas State

— Arkansas State added a transfer Monday when Dennis Harris, a 6-11 forward from Jonesboro, Ga., enrolled at the school after spending the past three seasons at LSU.

ASU Coach John Brady signed Harris out of high school when Brady was coach at LSU in 2008. Harris redshirted his first season at LSU and averaged 4.6 points and 3.1 points a game while making nine starts as a redshirt freshman last year. This season, Harris was hampered by injuries and only played in four games, scoring just two points in 28 minutes.

Because Harris enrolled at ASU in the spring semester, he will not be able to participate until the end of 2011, leaving him with roughly three semesters of playing time while on campus. He was a Mc-Donald’s All-America nominee at Mundy’s Mill High School, where he averaged 21.5 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots a game as a senior.
