United Way Campaign Makes Progress
Agency Leaders Look To Keep Level Of Support

Vietnamese immigrant Thach Lam learns English through the Literacy Council of Northwest Arkansas. The council is one of 67 nonprofit organizations that receive assistance from United Way of Northwest Arkansas to carry out their charitable work. The agency has raised $3.1 million of its $3.9 million goal for 2011 and says it is on track to collect the entire amount in gifts and pledges before the campaign ends Jan. 26.
