ON TV CONTEST

— Do you love to watch fame-seeking strangers declare their love on national television? Do you get a thrill from watching low-level celebrities learn to figure skate? If so, the On TV Contest is for you.

For the new contest, the challenge is simple: Choose a “reality” series and explain why it’s worth watching.

Just write in and tell why you love a particular “reality” show. Is your heart warmed by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? Is there something horrifically hypnotic about Toddlers and Tiaras?

“Reality” is any series that is not news related and is not scripted. So, that could mean a competitive show like Dancing With the Stars or a how-to show like This Old House or a candid series like 19 Kids and Counting. Your entry can take any form you like as long as you explain your choice.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72201; or by e-mail to [email protected]. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. April 4.

The reader with the best-written entry will get to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Sharon Kroening of Hot Springs Village, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
