FAYETTEVILLE — Police in Fayetteville say they arrested a third person in connection with the assault on officers at an area restaurant.
Authorities said they arrested Melissa Iles, 28 of Fayetteville, after interviewing witnesses and viewing security footage.
Police said Iles was seen interfering in the arrest of Hiram and Joemo Graham at IHOP on February 23, 2011.
According to an arrest report, Iles told officers that she was with the suspects at the IHOP after being at a local club. She admitted that she tried to intervene between the officers and Joemo Garaham, her ex-boyfriend, police said in a news release Monday.
Police say Iles is seen pushing and grabbing the officers in the security footage.
Hiram Graham was charged in connection with attempted capital murder for his role in the incident. Police say he beat an officer in the head with her own police baton.
