— Organizers let Queen rock them

For any potential songwriter who wants his song played at sporting events, it’s best to have the words “burn” or “rock” in the title.

According to music licenser BMI, Queen’s “We Will Rock You” topped the list of sports anthems during the 2009-2010 season. The track was written in 1976, long before most of the current professional athletes were born.

“We Will Rock You” beat out “Let It Rock” by Lil Wayne and “Burn It To The Ground”by Nickelback for the top spot.

The other Top 10 sports anthems for last year: 4. “Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas 5. “Car Wash” by Christina Aguilera with Missy Elliott6. “Fire Burning” by Sean Kingston 7. “Song 2” by Blur 8. “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy 9. “Run This Town” by Jay-Z with Rihanna and Kanye West 10. “Machinehead” by Bush
