Rodeo of the Ozarks Rounders will hold an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. today for girls (minimum age 12) interested in trying out for the 2011 team. The meeting will be held at the Rodeo Community Center in Springdale. Parents are asked to attend with the girls.

Bella Vista Republican Women

The Bella Vista Republican Women will meet Monday at Concordia in Bella Vista starting at 9 a.m. for coffee and refreshments followed by the meeting at 9:30 a.m.

The program will be “Are You Prepared for a Disaster?” Speakers from Benton County Emergency Management and the Benton County Fire Marshal’s office will discuss the Benton County Alert System and information to help be prepared in case of an emergency. Nonmembers are welcome.

Preceptor Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Callie Ockerman. The February social will be a trip to the movies at 1 p.m.

The donations of snacks and drinks were distributed to Hannah House and Children’s Advocacy Center. Those attending are encouraged to bring oatmeal for the church food drive.

Garden Club Of Rogers

The Garden Club of Rogers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Center for Nonprofits at St.

Mary’s auditorium in Rogers.

The program will be about designing for a view from inside the house looking outdoors. Dawn Denton, owner of Gardens by You and Me, will be the guest speaker. There will be a horticulture report and prize drawing afterward.

Son’s Chapel Quilters

The Son’s Chapel Quilters will be quilting baby quilts to sell and will have their business meeting at 1 p.m.

Tuesday. Additional handquilters are needed as well as those who hand-embroider.

The sale of the quilts supports the maintenance of the National Historic Registry building. The group will quiltfrom 9 to 11:30 a.m. and then have lunch in the basement.

Pinnacle Toastmasters Club

The Pinnacle Toastmasters Club will meet at noon Wednesday for its regular weekly meeting. The club provides members opportunities to practice speaking skills and to develop leadership skills. Meetings feature prepared speeches, extemporaneous talks and helpful evaluations by other members.

Bingo will be played Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, 1 St. Bernard Lane off Arkansas 340. Play starts at 6:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 5:45 p.m. The snack bar will be open. All proceeds go to support local charities. Next play will be March 17.

Macintosh User Group

The Bella Vista/Northwest Arkansas Macintosh User Group will meet at 7 p.m.

The program will cover basic maintenance - how to tell if the computer needs more RAM or a bigger hard drive and where to look to find out the information needed to figure that out, how to clean and tidy the Mac’s system and drive and how to clean the outside case and glass.

Sugar Creek Astronomy Society

The Sugar Creek Astronomy Society will present a beginner’s astronomy program Saturday at the Hobbs State Park - Conservation Area visitor center.

According to the president of the organization, Jack McDaniel, “Jupiter will dominate our western sky as we begin our observing session. We will be able to observe the planet and its belts as well as four of its largest moons.” The program will start at 5:30 p.m. Night viewing using binoculars, telescopes and the naked eye will begin around 6:30 p.m. The visitor center is located on Arkansas 12 just east of the War Eagle Road intersection. Cost is free, and the public is invited.

Bella Vista P.E.O. Chapter CD

Bella Vista P.E.O. Chapter CD will meet at 1 p.m. March 7 at Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. Installation of officers for next year and a report on the International Peace Scholarship are some of the items on the agenda. All unaffiliated members are welcome to attend.

“Swing Into Spring” is the theme for the Bella Vista Christian Women’s Club on March 8. A spring style show from “The Building” will be presented by Jacque Queen. Guest speaker Ginny Ellison will present “Life Like a Carnival Ride.” The brunch and meeting are held the second Tuesday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The Bella Vista Photography Club will meet at 1 p.m. March 19 at the Bella Vista Community Church. Deborah Billingsley, professional photographer, will be guest speaker. Club members are asked to bring photos to the meeting to be critiqued.

The club will hold workshops on various topics of interest at Village Insurance; dates, times and topics will be announced.

Betty Jo Harris is in charge of organizing field trips for the club.

A photography workshop open to all photographers will be held in Eureka Springs May 14-15.

NWA Weight Loss

Support Group

The Northwest Arkansas Weight Loss Support Group will hold its next meeting at 11 a.m. March 12 at the Golden Corral on Pleasant Grove Drive in Rogers.

This meeting will focus on increasing membership and fundraising. The group is not doctor-affiliated and welcomes everyone.

The club is for people who live in Northwest Arkansas and surrounding areas and its mission is to provide information and support for people who have had or are considering any type of weight-loss surgery.

This group meets the second Saturday of every month.
