CLUB HOSTS SPEECH CONTEST

— Pinnacle Toastmasters Club joined more than 12,500 Toastmasters clubs from around the world participating in the 2011 Toastmasters International Speech Contest on Feb. 16.

It is the world’s largest speech contest, with more than 30,000 presenters in 113 countries vying to become the next World Champion of Public Speaking.

Martha Avens won in the International Speech division. Jon Cokerwon in the Evaluation division and Bidyadhara Agasti received second place in International Speech. John Allred placed second in Evaluation.

Avens and Coker will advance to the next level of competition, the Area B-2 contest, to be held at the Jones Center in Springdale on March 5. The International Speech Contest begins at the local club level and proceeds through the area, division, district and final levels.
