NWA EDUCATION BRIEFS

— Several area students were included on the fall 2010 honor roll at the University of Kansas, with campuses in Lawrence and Kansas City, Kan.:

Bentonville - Alyssa Christine Potter and Brittany Charlotte Potter, both seniors in the School of Pharmacy and daughters of Helen and Mark Potter;

Gravette - Russell Lane Stricklen, freshman, son of Linda Lane;

Rogers - Kendall Ashley Kraus, freshman, daughter of Christine and Paul Kraus;

and Emily Anne Sis, a junior education major, daughter of Lisa and Phillip and Lisa Sis.

Fayetteville - George Andrew Holtzen, senior, son of Helen and George Holtzen; and Carissa Lee Smardo, freshman, daughter of Holly and Fred Smardo.

Hillary Capwell of Fayetteville, with majors in nursing and applied critical thought and inquiry at WilliamJewell University in Liberty, Mo., is listed in “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

Lori Wilkinson of Springdale, a sophomore majoring in interior merchandising, be with a group of approximately 30 other students from Harding University in Searcy who will spend the semester based in Athens, Greece. They will live at the Artemis, a former hotel on the Porto Rafti harbor, redesigned as an apartmentstyle resort for the university’s Greece program. Students are scheduled to travel to other Mediterranean locations.

Zachary Scott Hucks of Bella Vista graduated during winter commencement ceremonies with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in marketing, at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
