Paula Martin

LAWTON, Okla. — Savannah Gabrielle Paula Martin, 7, of Lawton, Okla., died Feb. 20, 2011, at Southwestern Medical Center, Lawton, Okla.

Born Sept. 10, 2003, in Rogers, Ark., she was the daughter of Thomas Joseph “TJ” Martin and Beth Mason Martin. She had lived in New York prior to moving to Lawton in December 2007.

A vibrant little girl, who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her courage, will, and humor were the sparks of her dazzling personality. Savannah’s life was certainly the embodiment of love and her presence will surely be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know this wonderful girl.

Survivors include her mother, Beth Martin of Lawton, Okla.; her father, TJ Martin of Cache, Okla.; two brothers, Tristen Martin and Tommy Martin, both of Lawton, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Keith and Barbara Anne Mason of Lowell, Ark.; paternal grandfather, Tom Tenbrook of Gentry, Ark.; aunt, Ruth Sanchez and husband, Christian, of Lowell, Ark.; uncle, Marcus Duffy and wife, Brittany, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; aunt, Nicol Butler and husband, Russell, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 25, 2011, and also 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, prior to the service at Wasson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Savannah Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Arvest Bank location. The fund is designed to pay for a child’s attendance to Autism Concepts Inc. in Edmond, Okla.

Cindy Dennis Davis

BELLA VISTA — Cindy Dennis Davis, 52, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on March 13, 1958, in El Dorado, Ark., to Carroll Camp Dennis and Mildred McLeon Dennis.

Cindy married Ray D. Davis Jr. on June 6, 1980. She was an LPN for many years at Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado, Ark., and the Northwest Arkansas area.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ray Jr. of Bella Vista, Ark.; two daughters, Grace Dennis of Bella Vista, Ark., and Stefanie Bohannan of Johnson, Ark.; one granddaughter, Niya Raine Bohannan; brother, Jimmy Dennis and Joann of El Dorado, Ark.; and sister, Judy and Bob Hattabaugh of Mansfield, Ark.

Final preparation by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

Effie Plumlee Legg

ROGERS — Effie (Plumlee) Legg, age 88, a resident of Rogers, Ark., for 30 years, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center in Rogers.

Effie was born on May 1, 1922, in Bentonville, Ark., to Charles and Melissa (Smith) Plumlee. Effie graduated from Bentonville High School in 1940. On Sept. 11, 1944, she married Joe Legg in Bentonville and they were married for over 66 years before her death.

Effie was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hyattsville, Md., for many years where she served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, worked with youth groups, and served on the building committee. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Rogers.

Effie was a former employee of the Field Crops Research Laboratory, ARS, USDA, Beltsville, Md., and was the recipient of one outstanding and two achievement awards. Effie accompanied her husband, Joe, on two of his assignments in the former Soviet Union and also worked at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow for the foreign Agricultural Service and the State Department.

After moving back to Northwest Arkansas, Effie enjoyed volunteering at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale and she especially enjoyed helping with the rose garden. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and needlework. Effie loved spending time with her family, nieces and nephews, and she will be missed very much.

Preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Doil Plumlee; Effie is survived by her husband, Joe Legg of the home in Rogers; one brother, Kenneth Plumlee and wife, Annabelle, of Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel (3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, AR 72758), with the Rev. Ben Rowell officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice (901 Jones Road., Springdale AR 72762, 479-872-3300) in honor of Effie Legg.

Leo F. Moloney

PRINCETON, Ill. — Leo F. Moloney, formerly of Bella Vista, died Feb. 22, 2011, in Princeton, Ill.

He served in the U.S. Army, and worked as a machinist.

Survivors include his wife, Esther; four sons, Patrick L. Moloney and wife Carolyn, Daniel F. Moloney, Joseph E. Moloney and Edward J. Moloney; three daughters, Theresa Hennessy, Frances M. Hanley and husband Keith and Catherine A. Trowbridge and husband Robert; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton.

Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.

Randall Cletus Mitchell

DECATUR — Randall “Randy” Cletus Mitchell, 46, of Decatur died Feb. 21, 2011, at his home. He was born May 4, 1964, in Fort Smith to Wilburn and Lavurn Mitchell.

He worked for Decatur Bank as a mechanic and repossession person.

Survivors include his mother, Lavurn Mitchell of Gravette; and two brothers David Mitchell and wife Susie, and James Mitchell, all of Decatur.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Decatur.

Arrangements are by Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Rosa Ann Evans

BENTONVILLE — Rosa Ann Evans, 89, of Bentonville died Feb. 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Benton County to Lee and Georgia Lester Epps.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Mark Evans and wife Cheryll of Bentonville; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Coffelt Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Hasan Selcan Ozkan

LITTLE FLOCK — Hasan Selcan Ozkan, 69, of Little Flock, Ark., departed this life on Feb. 23, 2011. He was born Sept. 3, 1941, in Turkey, to Mustafa Sadik and Fatma Muazzez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorris Ozkan of the home; a daughter, Muazzez Arzu and husband, Eric, of Pacifica, Calif.; stepchildren, Askin Civelek of San Francisco, Calif., David and Michael Brewer of Rogers, Charlie Brewer of Pea Ridge and Annette Beard of Pea Ridge; siblings, Suphan, Can and Vildan, all of Istanbul, Turkey; he is also survived by 21 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Meral in 2001; and his daughter, Can Burcu in 1998.

Islamic burial services will be held Friday under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.
