Crappie Fishing Seminar Set

— A free seminar on crappie fishing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at First Pentecostal Church, 2200 S. 13th St., in Rogers.

Fishing guide Jason Piper will discuss tackle, seasonal fishing patterns and ways to use minnows or jigs.

David King, owner of Mossback Fish Rack fishattractors, will discuss the best places to sink fish attractors and how to fish around them.

Prizes, including a fishing rod, fish attractor and a guided fishing trip, will be given away.

Tourney To Benefit Childrens’ Hospital

Arkansas Black Bass Unlimited will hold a tournament to benefit the Arkansas Childrens’ Hospitalfrom 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday out of Prairie Creek park. Entry fee is $100 per boat and includes big bass. Anglers may enter on tournament morning.

Trout Unlimited Hosts Banquet

The Arkansas chapter of Trout Unlimited will host its25th annual conservation banquet at 6 p.m., on March 4 at the Fayetteville Town Center, 15 W. Mountain St., on the square.

The event includes a prime rib dinner. There will be live and silent auctions and prize drawings. Profits benefit habitat projects to improve trout fishing.

Tickets range from $25 for youths to a $550 sponsorship package and table foreight. Purchase tickets at McLellan’s Fly Shop, United Bank or Signature Bank, all in Fayetteville.

Nature Course Taught At Crossing

A three-session nature class titled “Who’s in the Forest” will begin on March 3 from 6 to8 p.m., at the NorthWest Arkansas Community College Crossing in Bella Vista.

The cost is $33. The class will also be held on March 10 and 17.

Topics covered include bears, elk, sinkholes, the Beaver Lake watershed, fur trading and more. Master Naturalist Denis Dean is the instructor.
