Communities of faith: Labyrinth is part of prayer retreat

— Macrina Wiederkehr, a Benedictine nun, and Clara Jane Rubarth will lead a prayer retreat March 18-20 at St. Scholastica Monastery.

The program, “Every Step a Prayer: Praying With the Labyrinth,” will use the winding path as a metaphor for the spiritual journey. Participants will learn about labyrinths as a tool for walking meditation and prayer and will be encouraged to write in a spiritual journal. The retreat will also include centering prayer and lectio divina, a form of sacred, prayerful reading of Scripture.

The gathering begins at 7 p.m. March 18 and ends at noon March 20. Cost is $150 and includes accommodations for two nights and five meals. Information and registration are available online at stscho. org or by calling (479) 783-1135.
