IHOP brawl injures officer

— A Fayetteville police officer is hospitalized after being injured during a fight while attempting to make an arrest at an IHOP early Wednesday morning.

Police said the officer is one of two called to the restaurant to attend to an intoxicated man inside the business. When officers attempted to arrest the man, he began to fight the officers.

The man's brother then began to fight against the officers. Police said one of the men took a baton from one of the officers and began beating the officer repeatedly on the head, spine, torso and extremities.

Police said Officer Tiffney Lindley suffered non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized. Sgt. Chris Moad was the other officer reporting to the scene.

Police arrested Hiram Graham, 35, of Fayetteville and Joemo Graham, 33, of Houston, Texas.

Hiram Graham was charged for attempted capital murder, aggravated assault, battery in the second degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Joemo Graham was charged with battery in the second degree and hindering apprehension.

Both men were transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
