PRAIRIE GROVE
Argil C. Bartholomew, 89, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., went to be with his Lord on Feb. 20, 2011, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born June 9, 1921, in Strickler, Ark., the son of William H. and Mary Stewart Bartholomew.
Argil operated a grocery store in Prairie Grove in the early 1930s and was co-owner of Northwest Packing Co. He owned and operated the Washington County Sale Barn in Fayetteville, Ark., Bentonville Livestock Auction, Decatur Livestock Auction and the Benton County Sales Co. He served on the board of directors for the Farmers and Merchants Bank and served on the Prairie Grove school board.
He was a member of the Prairie Grove United Methodist Church, where he had served as a trustee and a past board member.
Argil was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Viola Copeland, Bernice Marie Foren, and Nellie Dean Traylor; six brothers, Kenneth Rex "Jack," Wallace Carl, Willard Garl, Harold Ray, and twin infants.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Emma Belle Bartholomew; along with four generations, including one daughter, Phyllis Orr and her husband, Burl; two sons, Billy Joe Bartholomew and his wife, Willene, and Dwight Bartholomew and his wife, Sandy, all of Prairie Grove, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Cary Bartholomew and his wife, Kori, Steve Bartholomew and his wife, Mary, Mitch Bartholomew and his wife, Mandy, Nikki Eldridge, Clint Bartholomew, Vanessa Orr, Bart Orr and his wife, Tara, Courtnie Bartholomew, Zach Davis and his wife, Ashley, and Kaylie Bartholomew; 20 great-grandchildren, Dustin Bartholomew and his wife, Brandy, Dara Fernandes and her husband, Tim, Dallas Bartholomew, Colt Bartholomew and his wife, Natalie, Brea Bartholomew, Tyler Eldridge, Whitley Eldridge, Hannah Eldridge, Sydney Bartholomew, Weston Bartholomew, Grant Bartholomew, Tiffany Bartholomew, Reed Orr, Camree Bartholomew, Ryder Orr, Rayleigh Bartholomew, Madeline Bartholomew, Morgan Bartholomew, Race Orr and Anna Kate Davis; two great-great-grandchildren, K'Leb Diez and Brody Bartholomew; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Prairie Grove United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Prairie Grove United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Ark.; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

FAYETTEVILLE
Elva Shelton, 87, of Fayetteville left this earth Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at her home in Fayetteville, surrounded by her family. She was born March 29, 1923, in Murray, Ark., the daughter of Theo and Etta Carlton.
Even though we know she was sad to leave her loved ones, we know that she rejoiced to see her husband, Eugene Shelton, and great-granddaughter Tristan Vaught and many others who had preceded her in death.
Elva Shelton had numerous hobbies such as cooking/canning, sewing/quilting and gardening. After retiring from Baldwin Piano Company, she continued to spend most of her time being a homemaker. She is also charter member of Living Faith Church. Her most beloved times were spent with her family and friends. Her strength will be remembered for generations.
Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Shelton, whom she married June 28, 1943. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Tristan Vaught, in August 2002; as well as three brothers, Loren Carlton, Leonard Carlton, and Ray Carlton; and four sisters, Audie Edgmon, Ruby Dodge, Naomi Robertson, and Jewell Edwards.
She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie Ramsey and her husband, Shelley, of Lowell, Gena Pense and her husband, Jay, of Fayetteville, and Sheila Sachs and her husband, Bobby, of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Shalena McWilliams and husband, Scott, of Little Rock, Jalynn Vaught and husband, Brian, of Farmington, Jason Pense and fiance, Sarah Barnett, of Farmington, Jeramy Pense and fiance, Alex Aulgur, and Brandy Meadors and husband, Hank, of Winslow; nine great-grandchildren, Bryce, Madisyn, Ramsey, Reece, Cayson, Tucker, Tessa, Aden, and Ryann; and a brother, Robert Carlton of Wesley.
The family would like to acknowledge her caregivers: Ann Ralston, Odie Sanders and Judy Ingram.
Services will be 10 a.m. today, Feb. 22, 2011, at Living Faith Church with Dr. Buell Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Ark., at 2 p.m. today under the direction of Beard's Chapel.

BELLA VISTA
Evelyn M. Radcliffe Wrede, 95, of Bella Vista died Jan. 11, 2011, at Bradford House in Bentonville. She was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Larchmont, N.Y., to John H. and Edith Brown Radcliffe.
She was a founding member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Oakland, N.J., where she was a Sunday school teacher and Altar Guild directress for 24 years.
Survivors include her husband, Herman H. "Bud" Wrede; a son, Robert H. Wrede and wife, Rose, of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother; a sister; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
GRAVETTE
Armond Earl Farley, 59, of Gravette, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at his home in Gravette. He was born on Feb. 22, 1951, in Harlem, Ky., to Armond Farley and Mattie Michael Farley.
He was a combat engineer trainer, part of the 7th Calvary and part of the Armored Engineer Division of the United States Army. He served his county for 9 1/2 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Armond Farley; his mother, Mattie Farley; one sister, Deborah Collins; and one grandson, James O. Russell.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara A. Farley of Gravette, Ark.; two daughters, Stephanie A. Jenkins of Gravette, Ark., Nancy M. Raines of Ellington, Mo.; two sisters, Diana Harris of Arizona and Patricia Farley of Kentucky; five grandchildren; and lots of wonderful family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the Mount Pleasant Church in Hiwasse, Ark.
Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Twila Faye Oxford, 45, passed away Feb. 20, 2011, in Rogers. She was born June 17, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Frank and Gertrude (Rich) Ewing.
She was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Travis Wade Oxford.
Survived by her husband, John Oxford, of the home; sons, Franklin Monroe and Joshua Lee Oxford of Rogers; 13 brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.

Donald "Don" L. Pollock, 83, died Feb. 20, 2011, at Circle of Life Legacy Village. Don was the loving husband of Virgalene (Chappell) Pollock. He was born May 31, 1927, in Soldier, Kan., to the late William and Grace (Adams) Pollock.
Don was a police officer in the Arkansas State Police Force for 35 years, retiring as a corporal. Among his duties as an officer, he would conduct driver tests.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also loved spending time with his family and looked forward to annual family reunions. Don was an avid fisher who enjoyed traveling and reading.
Mr. Pollock is survived by two sons, Tom and Nina Verkler of Bella Vista, Jack and Jane Verkler of Mississippi; six daughters, Sandra O'Neill of Colorado, Cheryl and Roy Shorter of Springdale, Deborah Bailey of Lowell, Jane Freeman of Sparkman, Sandra Jones of Arizona and Susan and Thomas Gawf of Lynn. Don has two brothers and a sister, Charles Pollock, Gene Pollock and Betty Lyon, all of Kansas. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son, Jim Verkler; and a brother, Richard Pollock.
Don's funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. in the Southside Church of Christ. Services to be officiated by Jackie Chesnutt. His visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, 1401 W. Hudson Road, Rogers. Burial to follow funeral in Rogers Cemetery.

BELLA VISTA
James B. McGee, 92, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. James was born on Feb. 10, 1919, in Sheffield, Ala., a son of Henry Clarence and Elizabeth Dee (Phillips) McGee.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Pensacola, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah L. McGee.
Survivors include his stepsons, Richard L. Angevine and wife, Joan, of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Berry L. Angevine and wife, Debbie, of Atlanta, Ga.; and Barbara Hart and husband, George, of Bella Vista, Ark.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark., and will be private.
