Two Men Jailed After Park Fight

— Two men were taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale after being stabbed in a fight in Murphy Park on Saturday, according to Springdale authorities.

Springdale Police responded at 9:23 p.m. Saturday to Murphy Park for a fight between several men.

The fight was still going on when the first officers arrived on scene, but the men fled on foot as officers approached, police said.

Additional police units then arrived at the park, established a perimeter and detained several people involved in the altercation, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department.

Police arrested Ricardo Vega, 18, of 105 N. Melody St. in Lowell, in connection with felony fleeing and misdemeanor second-degree battery and disorderly conduct. Vega was being held Sunday in the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set and a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

Police also arrested Jason Garcia, 20, of 1302 W. Margaret Place in Rogers, in connection with parole violation, felony fleeing, second-degree battery and disorderly conduct. Aaron Johnson, 18, and Dalton German, 18, were also arrested in connection with misdemeanor disorderly conduct for their involvement in the fight, according to police.

Officers said at least one of the persons involved in the fight had been stabbed in his neck and face area.

That person, along with another injured person, were transported and treated at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. Their conditions are unknown, police said.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and officials said they expect additional people to be identified and charged.
