— Five staff members of Circle of Life Hospice, with its main offices in Springdale,were recognized by professional organizations.

Catherine Grubbs, director of administration, was appointed to a three-year term on the quality and standards committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Diya LeDuc, LCSW, director of clinical services, was designated as an advanced certified hospice and palliative social worker by the National Association of Social Workers.

Dr. Steve Thomason, chief medical officer, and Dr. Kim Chapman, hospice physician, are now boardcertified in hospice and palliativemedicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Roger Huff, an LPN at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home, was named as a state ambassador for the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.

A University of Arkansas horticulture professor will be honored at the 23rd annual induction banquet for the Agriculture Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerceand the Arkansas Farm Bureau.

The late Teddy Moreland served on the agriculture faculty in Fayetteville for 35 years. When he died in April 2009 at the age of 65, he had a number of new vegetable varieties to release, said his daughter, Leslie Roye of Fayetteville. Moreland is described as one of the premier vegetable breeders in the United States.

Pauline Clark, a Prudential retiree from Bella Vista, won a Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants Award, which supported Clark’s hours of volunteer service by granting $250 to the nonprofit Habitat for Humanity of Benton County. The company awarded more than $400,000 to 636 charities across the United States. Grants range from $250 to $5,000.

Bobby New was hired as an educational consultant with James H. Cone Inc., aconstruction management and general contracting firm based in Little Rock.

New will work with school districtsthroughout Arkansas in the development and completion of capital improvement projects. He worked in Arkansas school districts for 38 years, including superintendent of the Fayetteville School District. New will be based in Fayetteville.
