Bella Vista Golf Committee Reschedules Forum

— The village’s Golf Joint Advisory Committee rescheduled its open forum to get input from property owners.

The forum will be at 6 p.m. March 9 at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive. The event was planned for February, but canceled because of weather, according to a Property Owners Association news release.

The committee is considering ways to drive golf rounds, attract new property owners and fill empty tee times with golfers.

To do so, the committee has identified three potential groups of people: current residents and property owners who do not play golf or who play infrequently, nearby residents of the surrounding area who are not Bella Vista property owners and visitors to Bella Vista as a golf destination, according to the release.

Committee members said they envision a future with all of the golf courses continuing to be open, being maintained at an attractive level and in demand.

They also would like to see full tee times to allow for the lowest fees possible and continued opportunity to play in groups. They also are considering instituting other privileges for resident property owners, such as earlier access to tee times, if the demand for play increases to a substantial degree, according to the release.

The committee has proposed the plans to the association’s board for immediate action, but also wants to gather resident’s thoughts and opinions.
