Zone Meetings Rescheduled

Springdale Will Wrap Up Attendance Zone Meetings Thursday

— Springdale School District officials have rescheduled two meetings about proposed changes in elementary school attendance zones.

A meeting for Monitor Elementary School parents will be 7 p.m. Monday at the school. Another for George Elementary School will be 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The meetings were postponed earlier this month because of inclement weather.

The district will also hold meetings at 6 p.m. Monday at Bayyari Elementary School and 6 p.m. Thursday at Lee Elementary School.

Parents are welcome to attend, ask questions and provide feedback, said Ron Bradshaw, assistant superintendent. The meetings last about an hour.

The rezoning could affect up to 1,000 students.

The district plans to open an elementary school in August at Sonora. An appointed committee of parents and administrators developed a new zone map for schools east of Thompson Street.

The committee will meet after the Lee meeting to consider changes. The Springdale School Board will vote in March on the plan.
