World Day Of Prayer Services Slated For March 4

— Several area churches will host World Day of Prayer services on March 4.

World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical movement started by Christian women of many denominations. Participants aftrm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable infl uence in the world.

People in more than 170 countries and regions will take part this year.

The theme for 2011 was designed by women in Chile, who ask participants to consider “How Many Loaves Have You?”

Bread is central to Chileans’ daily life. Sharing it is a universal sign of hospitality. The service will remind participants to share what they haveand to receive the bounty that is shared with them.

• Church Women United in Bella Vista will sponsor a service at Bella Vista Presbyterian Church, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd. Dessert will be served at 12:30 p.m. The service starts at 1 p.m. All women in the community are invited. Monetary donations will benefit the Helping Hands food pantry. For information, contact Jan Schweitzer at 876-2174.

• A service at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers is open to women and men. The service will start at 11 a.m. at the church’s west campus, 5891 Bellview Road. Child care will be available. Chilean-inspired food and drinks will follow. For information, call the church oftce at 636-2140.
