Nelline Combs

FAYETTEVILLE — Cuza Nelline Wist Franklin Combs, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Fayetteville Health and Rehab. Nelline was born April 29, 1920, in Dutton, Ark., to Q.Z. and Josie Bixler Wist.

Nelline worked for the Postal Service for over 35 years. She worked at Dutton Post Office until it closed and then the Combs Post Office until she retired in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, L.D. (Jack) Franklin, Sept. 1985 and Olus Combs, March 1995. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Levi Baur in December 2001; as well as five sisters, Mildred Ratliff, Mary Sparks, Maysel Stewart, and Nona Franklin; and four brothers, James, Jack, Keith and Joe Wist.

She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Hancock and her husband, Jim, of Waco, Texas; sons, Gary Franklin and his wife, Lynda, of Fayetteville, Larry Franklin of Noonan, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, Rodney Franklin, his wife, Julia, and their children, Megan and Blake, of Edmond, Okla., Sandra Baur, her husband, Matt, and their daughter, Katy, of Crawford, Texas; Scott Franklin, his wife, Becky, and their son, Colton, of Springfield, Mo., and their daughter, Brook, of Jonesboro, Ark., Tracy Moore, her husband, Randy, and his son, Skyy, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Micah Franklin of Missouri, Desarary and Derrick Franklin of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Bobby Wist and his wife, Jane, of St. Charles, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Joe (Yvonne) Wist of Raymore, Mo., and Mrs. James (Pauline) Wist of Fayetteville; daughters-in-law, Lora Franklin of Rogers and Arline Franklin of Harrisonville, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Nelline’s children would like to say a special “THANKS” to Billie Yates, her niece, for visiting and checking on her so often and also to the staff of Fayetteville Health and Rehab.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Dutton Cemetery in Dutton, Ark., under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Beard’s Chapel.

Bondola Lacey

PRAIRIE GROVE — Bondola Lacey, 89, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Feb. 17, 2011, at Prairie Grove Health and Rehab in Prairie Grove, Ark. She was born June 3, 1921 in Marlow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sidney Joshua and Hattie Mae McCrackin Jetton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; six sisters; and one great-grandson, Dalton “Superman” Lacey.

Survivors include two sons, Eldon Wayne Lacey and his wife, Margie, of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Mitchell Lacey and his wife, Joyce, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one brother, J.W. Jetton and his wife, Margie, of Morrow, Ark.; one sister, Lavern Sargent and her husband, Hank, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; five grandchildren, Mitchell Lee “Sonny” Lacey, Danielle Huff and Brandy Lacey Smith, all of Prairie Grove, Ark., Vickie Hughes of Monett, Mo., and Ginger Overturf of Arkadelphia; two step-grandchildren, Shane Jentzsch of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Steve Jentzsch of Hurst, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Braiden and Jacob Lacey, Alicia and Ashton Finfrock of Prairie Grove, Jonathan and Jacob Hughes of Monett, Mo., Kolton, Kerigan and Kylee Belle Overturf; five step-great-grandchildren, Tira Swafford of Fayetteville, Duncan Jentzsch of Hurst, Texas, Austin, Aiden and Abi Jentzsch of Prairie Grove; one step-great-great-grandchild, Chloe Swafford Kupka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery, near Morrow, Ark.; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Sonny Lacey, Braiden Lacey, Jacob Lacey, Frank Huff, Allen Hughes, Mark Overturf, Patrick Allen, Shane Jentzsch, Steve Jentzsch, and Duncan Jentzsch.

Melvin Eugene Logue

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Melvin Eugene Logue, 94, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed away Feb. 15, 2011, in Clarksville.

He was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Drakes Creek, Ark., to the late Melvin and Flora Mae Logue.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired aircraft mechanic with Boeing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable A. Caudle Logue; and son, Gary M. Logue.

He is survived by two sons, Morris D. Logue of Clarksville, Tenn., and Dennis J. Logue of Grapevine, Texas; daughter, Judith A. Mosley of Lexington, Tenn.; and sister, Ruth Tweedy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Baptist Ford Community Church. Interment will follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
