FAYETTEVILLE — Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Prairie Grove man Thursday after he reportedly hit his stepson on the head with a 2-inch by 4-inch piece of lumber.
Cole Matthew Baran, 40, of 12580 Greasy Valley Road faces a felony charge of second-degree battery.
Deputies were called to Baran’s home for a domestic disturbance about 9 p.m. Thursday.
According to a preliminary arrest report, Baran wanted to paint a tattoo on his 20-year-old stepson. When he refused, Baran reportedly became angry and struck him on the face with a piece of landscape timber.
The stepson suffered several chipped teeth, as well as a large abrasion on the side of his face.
Baran was in the Washington County Detention Center onFriday without bond.
