Concert to benefit Special Olympics

Area band Trout Fishing in America will headline a fundraiser for Special Olympics Arkansas on Sunday at Arend Arts Center in Bentonville.

The Grammy-nominated band is best known for its family friendly music. The show begins at 2 p.m., and tickets are $17.50.

Two fundraisers associated with the Miss University of Arkansas at Fort Smith pageant will benefit children’s charities.

Pageant contestants will be on hand 6-8 p.m. Monday to meet diners at Just Call Me Joe’s Grill and Cantina, 3400 S. 74th St. in Fort Smith. Contestants will assist the wait staff, and each will attempt to raise $100 for the Children’s Miracle Network

The Miss UA-Fort Smith Fashion Show, set for 7 p.m.

March 5 at Breedlove Auditorium on campus, will benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Pageant contestants will model the latest casual fashions, business attire and formal wear. Admission is $5.

The scholarship pageant will be 7:30 p.m. March 12 at the Arkansas Best Corp. Performing Arts Center in Fort Smith.
