Needs Assessment Public Hearing Set

— The Office of Human Concern will hold a public hearing to update a community needs assessment at 11 a.m. on Feb. 28 at the office’s headquarters, 506 E. Spruce St.

The hearing will allow comment on the continuing appropriateness of the needs assessment survey process, according to a news release. Results from the survey assist the Office of Human Concern board in setting priorities for service to low-income and elderly residents of Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties.

The priority areas are elderly services, cost of basic necessities, transportation, employment, education, affordable housing, health costs, energy costs and multicultural issues.

The Office of Human Concern is not funded or equipped to address all of the listed priorities, but impacts elderly services, energy conservation, low-income utility assistance and energy conservation housing retrofits, the release said.

Comment can be made in person at the public hearing or in writing to Karen Jennings, operations manager, P.O. Box 778, Rogers, AR 72757. Comments may also be faxed to 479-636-7312 or e-mailed to [email protected].
