“This was the result of an approximate two-month investigation,” said Capt. Mike Jones, Benton County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division commander. “The street price for the narcotics found was approximately $4,000.”

Deputy Eric Lyle was following up on tips from previous arrests, according to a news release.

Sheriff’s officials said Lyle also had information obtained while assisting Bentonville narcotics officers that led to the residence, whose occupants were suspected of selling large amounts of marijuana over the past couple of months.

Lyle obtained a search warrant for the apartment, authorities said. The search yielded just less than 1 pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution and consumption of illegal narcotics, including packaging materials and electric scales.

Law enforcement officials said the bulk of the marijuana was found on the kitchen counter, where it was being processed to smaller individual packages. The remainder of the narcotics were scattered throughout the apartment, according to the news release.

Officers also seized $1,293 in the search, authorities said, but no firearms.

“It’s unusual that we don’t find firearms with drugs,” Jones said. “In most cases, where you find one, you find the other.”
